The Band
The American Music Company Band was originally formed in Washington,
D.C. in 1958 as The Offbeats. Be sure to read all about our history.
40-plus years and the band is still rockin' around the clock!
John Broaddus
John is an original founding member of The Offbeats, which became The
American Music Company in the early 1980's. John is retired from the U.S. federal
government and can also be heard lending his horn talents to various other
bands in the Washington, D.C. area.
Ernie Gorospe
Ernie is also an original founding member of The Offbeats / The American
Music Company Band. Ernie is retired from the Department of Defense, and
spends his non-music time as Vice President of Gorospe
Associates, Inc. (a computer consulting firm) and working on his street
rod - a 1934 Ford nostalgic custom, originally built in 1965!
Steve Gorospe
Steve is also a "second generation" member of The American Music Company Band. Steve grew up listening to his dad Ernie and the rest of the band (see History) play those timeless 1950's and 60's rock 'n roll and r&b tunes. His earliest recollection (at age 5) of the band was when his dad and the rest of the band held a rehearsal at his dad's house. He sat there for hours and listened, knowing then that he one day wanted to be able to "do that"!. Steve is President of his own computer consulting firm, Gorospe Associates, Inc.
Steve Windsor
Steve is another "second generation" member of The American Music Company Band. Steve grew up listening to his dad Billy Windsor (see History) play those same timeless 50's and 60's rock 'n roll and r&b tunes. Steve is co-owner of Windsor of Old Town Salon & Day Spa and The Gentlemen's Quarters in Old Town Alexandria, VA.
Jason Avery
Jason is one of The American Music Company Band's "second generation".
Jason grew up around the Gorospe household. Jason and Steve Gorospe often
attended the band's gigs, listening and learning from our favorite musicians!
